Short answer
All three are four-year, eight-semester Tribhuvan University degrees with an entrance exam. BSc CSIT is the most science and maths heavy, and you need physics and maths in your +2 for it. BIT is also run by TU's Institute of Science and Technology but accepts any stream if you studied English and maths or computer. BCA is run by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and accepts students from any stream. If you did +2 science with maths, CSIT gives you the widest options. If you didn't, BCA or BIT are the realistic routes.

Common problems
I studied management in +2. Can I do an IT degree?
Yes. BCA accepts any stream. BIT also accepts any stream as long as you studied English and maths or computer at 100 marks. BSc CSIT needs physics and maths.
Which one gets better jobs?
Employers in software mostly look at your skills, projects and internships, not which of the three degrees you have. CSIT has more theory and maths, which helps for further study in computer science abroad.
When are the entrance exams?
Around Shrawan, a few weeks after +2 results. In 2083 the CSIT exam was on 24 Shrawan, the BIT exam on 30 Shrawan and the BCA exam on 31 Shrawan. Watch the IOST and FoHSS notice boards from Ashadh.
How much does it cost?
Fees at TU constituent campuses are much lower than at private affiliated colleges. TU's humanities faculty lists BCA fees from about Rs 4 lakh to Rs 12 lakh for the whole course. CSIT and BIT at private colleges cost a similar range.
Is BE Computer Engineering different?
Yes. It's an engineering degree from IOE with its own entrance. See the IOE entrance page.
