How do I apply for the CMAT entrance?

What it is
The Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) is Tribhuvan University's entrance for its semester-system management degrees. Passing it is mandatory. A student who misses it can't be admitted to these programmes that year unless they pass the later Re-CMAT.
You apply online through a campus that offers your programme and pay the fee to the Faculty of Management by connectIPS. The college then verifies your form before the test.
Who needs it
- Students applying to TU's BBA, BBM, BITM, BPA, BHM, BTTM, BBA Finance or Bachelor of Mountaineering Studies at a constituent or affiliated college.
What you need

Grade 11 and 12 with at least D in theory and C in practicals, and a CGPA of 1.8
Or second division in 10+2, PCL or equivalent. Students waiting for results can apply and show the certificate at admission.

Choose a college offering your programme
The online form is submitted to a campus or college that runs the programme you want. Pick it before you start.

Fill in the online form
Use the CMAT link on the Faculty of Management's website. In 2083 the form was open from 1 Ashadh to 19 Shrawan.

Pay and get verified
Pay Rs 1,000 through connectIPS. The college then verifies your form. Unverified forms aren't allowed into the exam.

Sit the test
The test covers verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning and general awareness. In 2083 it was held on 23 Shrawan.

Admission
You must pass CMAT to be admitted. Colleges then admit by merit under the faculty's rules.

Common problems
I missed CMAT.
TU usually holds a Re-CMAT later for remaining seats. In 2083 its form ran from 18 September to 1 October and the test was on 3 October. Without passing CMAT or Re-CMAT you can't be admitted that year.
Is BCA in CMAT?
No. BCA has its own entrance through the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Can I apply to more than one college?
The form goes to one campus. Ask the college about moving if you change your mind after the result.
