What it is

Tribhuvan University's Office of the Controller of Examinations in Balkhu issues transcripts, provisional certificates and original degree certificates. Applications for transcripts and provisional certificates are now made online, so you no longer queue at Balkhu to submit a paper form.

The portal checks your mark sheets against your registration automatically. If they match, the application moves ahead. If they don't, you'll need a correction through your campus first.

Check your mark sheets match your registration
The portal checks your mark sheets against your registration card. If your name, date of birth or registration number differ, get them corrected first through your campus.

Log in at student.tuexam.edu.np, choose transcript or provisional certificate, fill in the form and upload your documents.

Pay the fee
Pay online through the bank linked in the portal.

Track and collect
Follow the status in the portal. You'll be told when it's ready and how to collect it.

Get the character certificate from your campus
The character certificate is issued by your campus, not the exam office. Ask the campus administration with your final mark sheet.

Common problems

The portal says my details don't match.

Your mark sheet and registration card disagree. Ask your campus to send a correction to the exam office before you apply.

What's the difference between a provisional certificate and the original?

The provisional certificate proves you've passed until the original degree certificate is issued, which can take much longer. Most employers and foreign universities accept it.

Do I need a migration certificate?

Only if you're moving to a different university or board in Nepal. See the migration certificate page.

Can someone else apply for me while I'm abroad?

The online form can be filled from anywhere. Collection may need you or an authorised person. Check the portal's instructions.
